SCCA SPEED WORLD CHALLENGE
The Speed World Challenge GT and Touring Car Championships are with out question, the most intense, competitive and exciting road racing championships currently being contested in the U.S. SCCA is responsible for the start of professional road racing the U.S. and is still one of the leaders. As the only series in North America employing a standing start (think drag racing with 30-plus cars), the World Challenge Championships produce the most exciting, no-holds-barred racing anywhere with a 55 minute race.
With SPEED World Challenge champions, you’ll never ask “what kind of car is that?’ We race what you drive … only better. Performance-enhanced and race-prepared cars derived from the same sport-oriented production cars you see on the streets. Everything that’s anything takes a shot at the World Challenge Championship. There are two World Challenge classes which race separately: Touring, for smaller cars like Acura TSX and BMW 3 series and GT with faster cars like Dodge Viper, Corvette, Porsche. World Challenge takes the best of the street to the track. It’s the most relevant racing series going, period.
